720 boxes of 'Khalash' dates donated by the Government of Saudi Arabia to the Ministry of Religious Affairs as an expression of care and attention for the well-being of Muslims in the country, especially the asnaf group. The Donation Presentation Ceremony was held at the Multipurpose Hall, Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kampung Kiarong, 3rd March morning.

The donation was received by Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, and handed over to Awang Haji Saharuddin bin Haji Petra, Acting Managing Director of Zakat, Waqf and Baitulmal Affairs for distribution to the asnaf group. This was followed by the handover of dates to the representatives of selected mosques in the four districts. The donation reflects the close relations, cooperation and Islamic friendship between Brunei Darussalam and Saudi Arabia.
